What is a dark chamber
A dark chamber, or dark room is a special room where there is no light, except for a special safety light, meaning that you can see what you are doing without ruining the film. The room is used to develop film (make photos out of the film).
The way that film is developed is to make the film into a roll of negatives, then is placed in an enlarger, a special type of projector which is used to send the photo onto the photograph paper underneath it. This paper, when it is exposed to light shows what is put onto it.
After the paper has been exposed to the light, leaving the image on it, the paper is placed in certain chemicals, which make the photo permanent.
This method of printing photographs is known as the Collodion Technique
